'The British Cables Association (BCA) is the trade association for British Manufacturers and Associate Companies manufacturing insulated cables, wires and accessories'StaffBCA has a professional staff and is always available to provide the latest information about the industry. MissionThe Mission of the BCA is to represent its members on relevant major policy issues, to promote the interests of UK cables and associated businesses throughout Europe and the world-wide markets, and, where appropriate, to provide services with the objective of contributing to the commercial success of the UK cable systems industry. StructureBCA has a federal structure, with product sectors serving the interests of those manufacturers with particular product ranges. There are currently four such Sectors:
In addition there is agroup providing a forum for discussion of environmental matters. StandardsThe BCA contributes to the development of British, European and International Standards and helps publish codes of practice and guides to safe manufacturing and usage. StatisticsBCA undertakes collection and dissemination of industry statistics on a confidential basis to its members. It is also co-operating with the Office of National Statistics to attempt to improve the quality of the official statistics on the industry. MembershipMembership to BCA is available to manufacturers which are substantial and well-established companies. Some of our largest manufacturers are AEI, Draka UK, Nexans and Prysmian. Current membership represents approximately 80% of the British Industry. |
